HUD to Analog

Car: 1993 240sx Vert finally

in a 93 convertible i have the analog speedo, i pulled the harness(lower) and the trans and everything out of a 89 coupe with the HUD cluster and my speed isn't working i'd really like to get some advice im good at the hands on but terrible at figured out on where to start, i need to know if there is a difference in the wiring to the two or maybe an easy way to tell if it is in the cluster being messed up. the car only has 114xxx miles on it and i really doubt its the cluster so any ideas?
