HUD speedo

ok heres the deal, i have a hud cluster and analog cluster, the hud cluster is sohc but i plan to swap the tach in fromt he dohc cluster so the tach works, but then my question is will the hud speedo work read correctly? as long as i have the mph speed sensor installed everything will be cool right?

Yeah, that should work fine... just use your old speed sensor off the SOHC KA

is the sohc and dohc speed sensors different? cuz i dunt gota a sohc one

the HUD and non HUD speed sensors are different (I think...) It doesn't matter which KA sensor you use though.

You can't use a non-HUD tach in a HUD cluster. They HUD tach is bigger than the non-HUD tach.

I think the speed sensors are the same, I have a friend with a KA, he just found a DOHC HUD cluster to put in his DOHC car, and it works fine. and the tach is alittle different, but in the SCC article, they said alittle triming and it would fit.

DANG! so there's not really any way I can get my SR tach to work with a HUD unit?

yeah, just swap it in dude...

but the analog tach won't fit right.. iirc the analog tach is bigger and you need to swap the needles and the faces...I did it to mine and the tach sweeps slow now so I just put in a little like 3.5" sunpro tach... for $40 bucks its the same price working clusters go for and it was a lot simpler. I plugged it in and it worked...
