alright well not sure if this is the right section but, i have a 91 dohc with a hud cluster. the speedometer and odometer dont work and through searching, i found that my speed sensor may not be hooked up. i have been underneath my car couple times and looks like all the wires on my transmission is hooked up. however the speedometer doesnt move nor does the odometer, BUT the hud reads "0 MPH."

if its able to light up, doesnt it mean that the speed sensor is hooked up? or maybe my speed sensor is bad? when i was underneath i forgot which one was the speed sensor so i just checked to make sure all the wires were plugged somewhere.

maybe a fuse?

get a voltage meter and check and see if your speed sensor still works, that what I would do

speed sensor is the farthest back on the transmission. It is the cylinder that sticks out the right side of the transmission near the back by the driveshaft.

if your HUD lights up and reads 0 mph it is working which is good. You might have a stripped speed sensor gear. that thing in the trans that usar89b pointed out has a plastic gear that can wear out. Pull it out , change it if it is no good. solved problem.
