HUD problems

I'm having a problem with my HUD cluster. One day it works, the other day it doesn't. Sometimes, I start my car and it doesn't work. Then after 2-5 minutes of driving, it suddenly turns on. What the hell is wrong with it and how do I fix it?

It's a common problem, caused by either a loose connection or a dying HUD. You can either replace it with another digital cluster and risk it happening again, see if you can repair a loose connection, or switch to analog guages. I think there is a thread somewhere on replacement of digital guages, do a search.

Does it happen to be a 'hot' day when it turns on.

I've read that heat is one of the problems with the HUD. On mine it works all the time, but at idle when cold it'll read like 6-7mph. When it's hot out like now, in the summer, it'll read 0mph like it should.

It's works perfectly except for the off reading. Have you had a 'hot' day yet ?

Yea, when my car's cold, the HUD doesn't work most of the times. When it warms up and I'm out driving, it suddenly lights up.
