Hey, i recently bought a new digital gauge cluster to replace my broken analog one. but the problem is, everything is wired in right all the plugs are where they should be, but my HUD displays my RPM instead of my speed, it says 14 and when i rev goes up what could be wrong.

Sure you didn't plug the tach into the speedo? And would make sure that the engine and cluster match (SOHC to SOHC or DOHC to DOHC).

i did not plug the tach into the speedo since its a digital speedo and a completely different plug, so i cut both harnesses and matched the colors the speedo now works, but only when the dash lights are on... how can i fix that? also its a dohc cluster in a sohc car but i can just swap the tach into the new cluster.

You've wired something up wrong it seems, would have to go back and check your wires with FSM. May be different wires SOHC to DOHC on the speedo and different from HUD to Non-HUD harness.

so when i was splicing the two harnesses there were some wires that were the same color as others, could this be the problem? also my speedo displays 0 now but only when my dash lights are on and it does not do anything when i drive around. this thing has been nothing but problems so far.
