how simple is it to install a hud system in a 89-94 240? Is installation for the usdm and jdm version the same? any inputs will help. thanks

it will bolt right it cause it was an option on the coupes... yeah the usdm and jdm version is probably the same, except for the whole miles and kilometers discrepancy

Ok, are you wanting to install a HUD into a car that didnt come with it? In that case you will want the dash, gauge cluster, wiring harness, and windshield. As for swapping USDM HUD with JDM HUD i dont see why there would be a difference. You can make a USDM HUD read speed in KPH or MPH. If you swapped the entire gauge cluster, your odometer would now be in KM. Its a boat load of work.

I got a '92 fb se...and just installed a hud unit from my '91 coupe. I replaced the dash, center console, instrument cluster, etc... with the coupe peices cause they were in perfect condition. It's very easy to install(since I stripped the coupe myself)...only thing I didn't get to add in was the windshield with the reflector cause it was cracked. It's only hard to see it on the stock windshield during the day but at night it's pretty cherry...i'll probably just put a small square piece of black tint where the speed is displayed on the windshield to help out w/ that.

I replaced everything that involved the cluster including the harness(you'll need this for the conversion) including the dash unless you want to customize your own. The installation is easy...you just gotta know how to take apart your dash...and your all g.

I don't know if a jdm hud will plug and play into a usdm 240 but everyone keeps asking 'bout installation and I just wanted to post my experience.

If anyone got any questions post and i'll do my best to answer.
