I have a HUD speedometer with an 8000 redline tachometer. I plan on getting an sr20det, but want to know if I can still keep my digital speedometer and just swap the tachometer for the JDM one, because I don't want the analog speedometer. Will it work? I have an 89 SOHC 240sx coupe. Thanks

Eh? That gague cluster is for the CA18, not the SR but yeah you can use it, I wouldn't rev the engine out to 8k unless its built though.

Yes you can just swap out the usdm tachometer for the jdm tachometer to make it work. Be sure to get a jdm hud tach though as the analog and hud tachometers are a bit different in size I believe.

How did this work out? I am looking at an '89 myself w/ HUD and plan to do the swap. Does the JDM tach swap in fine? Does it have to be the HUD one? Thanks!

I think the '91s are fine, but the 89-90 has issues. Can the 89-90 use the tach from an non HUD?
