--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

allright guys, Dan Tech got a deal for me and those of you that would like to get the ultimate fix for the HUD cluster....http://www.nissaninfiniticlub.com/zerot ... 700$159.00 and $12 shipping, we need 4 more individuals. I dont work for Dan but everydody in the group have gone thru him for parts. MIDWAY is one of the few sponsors for this great group and I have done many transactions with them without any problems.....I was on the last kouki taillight buy and it was great....Enough accolades!! I really want to have a functional HUD....this assy is supposed to be the upgraded version from Nissan (better soldering joints, etc) for what I heard in the past....

PS. this is just the assy for the rear part of the HUD portion, a 99% fix for any HUD problems...

I'm in, you can e-mail me when the deal is set up, I'd propose this on the Group Buy and Buy/Sell Forums too.

Hey driftS14, did anybody approach you in the past in reference to this? You maybe want to hook up with them and make sure they jump on this.......

if dan is just selling the part for the HUD... then youll need a HUD cluster with wiring harness. doesnt matter if its a coupe or hatch, people have put in digi clusters to hatches before

Any idea on what type and length of warranty Dan is offering? Also you said this an 'upgraded' version of the assembly. Is this a new revision of the circuit board in the rear?(on the speedo board) My understanding was that the ceramic-style PCBs are partially to blame for the intermittent problems(temperature sensative). Otherwise I don't think it's worth $150 to simply swap out some caps and reflow some joints, only to have the problem resurface.

Is MY understanding that in order to get warranty on any OEM part you need to have install by the dealer and the length of it Im not really sure.....You are right about the infamous problems with the HUD units, this is a brand new circuit board and components, I read somewhere in a group that is a revision. It basically depends in how bad you want to have an HUD in your car, I send my cluster to one of the repair shops in the web. The guys couldnt fix it and still charge me 40.00 dollars for diagnostic fees.... If you buy a used unit on Ebay (operational one?)might work for a week until it quits on you and you paid at least 100. 00 dollars for it...... You decide which one is the best investment...If you try to get this assy brand new anywhere else it will run 200.00 dollars or more....

Yeah you are probably right Re: the warranty... If these are indeed a newer revision made to address the original problems, then the asking price is surely worth it in my opinion! However if the same components and PCB manufacturing processes are used, there's no point in putting the same thing back in, even if it is new. I asked Dan some of the above questions in the other thread, so you might want to check there for clarification.

Yah sorry for your loss on the service - I took a swing at mine, trying to get it to work[all the time], but it was a lost cause.

Thanks for responding,-Jamie

Hey driftS14, I dont think the HUD gb was going to happen so I just went ahead and bought mine at regular price, this month they have free shipping, so it came to a little over 200 dollars. Hey, I know but I really want it HUD on my baby. And I have a spare module that I can use for parts or repair another cluster in the future...I thought I let you know,,,,in case you want to go the same route...
