Guys, I know that some of the 240s come with an HUD unit which displays speed and other info onto the windshield. If my car came without one, is it possible to install it by taking it off another (junkyard?) 240? Must I get the different (electronic speed display) gauge cluster? If anyone has it, is it useful to you? What other info is displayed beside the speed? Thanks in advance,

The only thing it displays is vehicle speed on the windshield. You would basically want to just by the junked car, as you would need all this:

Instrument panel with electric speedoDashboard (HUD shines thru dash near front left window vent)basically the whole wiring harnessthe windshield (there is a polarized piece of plastic calld a HUD finisher that focuses the display, this windshield is about $1400 from any glass shop, its the one they DONT think you need!)the intensity switch (adjusts how bright or dark it is, goes on dash panel between steering wheel and cruise control switchs)And im not even sure about what sensors you might need. Im sure you can do it, but one of the biggest problems is HUDs non-reliability. They seem to work when they want to. Plus the electronic speedo only samples info from the transmission about 2 times per second, so on rapid accel or decel, you skip large quantities of numbers.
