Hey, ive searched the forums and still have no definitive answer to this.... Well today I went to a junkyard and they had like 4 240sx's and I noticed one had a HUD gauge cluster and the whole HUD setup.. I didnt have too many tools on me and figured that I just wanted the gauge cluster and the subharness so I could convert my analog cluster to the digital one... Only problem is I think that the coupe I pulled it from was an 89' 240 and my hatch is a 91'. Can I just swap these clusters and plug n play it???? I read that the tach does not work or something along those lines. Does anyone know the facts about what happens if I tried to swap the clusters?????Thanks, dre

you need to keep your DE tach, other than that itll be fine.

open the 91 cluster.. and unscrew the whole tach assembly.. PCB, gauge, And needle..

then do swap it into the 89..

the 89 tach is for a SOHC.. it wont read your DOHC's rpm correctly.

it should be a screw in affair.

3 gold phillips head screws on the back of the cluster, right behind the tack, take them out and the tach will fall out. do this to both clusters, and put the DE tach into the cluter you are keeping.
