When I went in for my second oil change (at the dealership) I had just lost a hubcap. They replaced it without saying or charging anything. When I got it back the service tech who did my check out said that Nissan changed how they attach their hubcaps so they break loose a lot now.mlee07 wrote:Hi!
I have a 2007 Versa that I bought just over a year ago, and in general, I really like it. But for one freakish exception: In the last 3 months, three hubcaps have fallen off! I figured the first one was a fluke and bought a replacement, but I just started a file at 800-NISSAN1, 'cause I don't think I should have to pay for the other two (and possibly a third). Anybody else having hubcap problems?
Nissan screwed up and made every other car BUT the Rogue and Versa have bolt-on caps instead of pop-on. The Versa ones break very easily, too.Great White Versa wrote:

Anyway, if my dealership's HORRIBLE service center will replace my hubcaps for free yours should as well.
Honestly? It'll just make a mess. Silicone is good for sealing, but not good for bonding. Plus, what will you do when you have your tires rotated?PB wrote:I never had any problem with mine,And i drive over railway tracks hard,Would it work to put a dab of silicone on the tabs or wheel before installing?,This should hold them on.
Silicone will bond to most anything, just make sure its clean not dirty like applying any other thing,I did not say squirt the entire tube of silicone all over your wheels,Just a little on the tabs of the hub caps, you can still pull them off later,Unless you emptied the complete tube of silicone on them which any one knows not to do.LOLOh and Nissantech you will probably discover what silicone is all about through the years working on nissans,I found it stuck to plastic,/glass/paper/rubber/cylinder heads/spark plug wires/caps.sealing leaks valve covers/carbs,gasket making, well i could go on and on,Sticks to most anything like i said.Have you ever used ATV silicone/gasket ??nissantech06 wrote:

Yeah, there is.MIdnkight-lude wrote:there isnt an issue with it staying.
if all the tabs are intact. they are pretty solid, but when someone goes to remove your wheel and arent careful, the tab will break easy, and it easy for the wheel to fall off, i know i broke the tab on one hubcap, and that hubcap is missing somewhere....arco wrote:
Yeah, there is.
Ouch! By now Nissan should be very aware of the problem. The hubcaps can't cost them more than a few bucks and they should give them away until/if they find a solution for good customer relations. Apparently some dealerships may doing this a little. If people don't mind paying $58 each time, Nissan doesn't have a problem, they have a cash cow.mlee07 wrote:I purchased the one that I paid for from the dealer and it was about $58 w/tax.
the original post is from december of 07. someone bumped the hell out of this thread.bigdog wrote:use seach. has been posted seveal times. best solution go to parts store get new hub caps or get some new rims.
