Ugh, my car is now ghetto UNfabulous. I went on a long trip and when I parked at the hotel, I noticed that my hubcap/wheel cover was kind of hanging off. So I pulled on it a little and it popped right off. Mainly because it was only attached at ONE point and all the rest were all BROKEN!

I have no idea what could have caused this. I did not hit any huge bumps, my tires are not deformed or deflated and there are no marks on the cover at all. No scratches, nothing. Anyway, I am sure that the dealer will laugh in my face if I try to get a free one, so if anyone has one for sale, hit me up...

I would definitely go to the dealer and get a free one! I mean, the car is brand new, stuff like that isn't supposed to happen. That sucks that they're actually hubcaps and not wheel covers (where they're actually bolted down by the lug nuts) That's not acceptable for a new car, so take it to the dealer and get it fixed. My friend's versa had that plastic foglight cover thing fall out on her while she was driving, and I told her the same thing.

When I had my Versa in for service for the TPMS, the writer said, "Good thing you've got the alloy wheels....we've been seeing problems with the hubcaps on the Versa."

So definitely complain to the dealer. Odds are they're familiar with the problem.

Here's a whole set complete with wheels. Might be good to have.

Alloys > steelies with hubcaps.

You can even get inexpensive, good-looking alloys from your local tire joint or Pep Boys for around $50/wheel that will take your existing tires. Makes the car look nicer, and keeps this from happening.

Plus, you then take your old steelies and mount winter tires on them, and toss the hubcaps. So you can just bolt on and unbolt the correct tires for the season as necessary.

Costs a little extra scratch up front, but WELL worth it IMO.

Edit: You'll also find that your car takes of a little better because of the decreased rotational weight of the wheels themselves.

I agree with EV. If you're going to do that, you might as well get some decent 15" alloy rims, and you'll never have them weather on you due to road salting in the winter if you use your stock steel wheels.

My passenger side rear also had a clip broken. Dealer ordered it no sweat. If no damage to exterior to wheel cover then it seems like it should be covered under warranty...
