I recently got H&R hubcentric spacers and my wheels balanced and am still experiencing vibration at around 55mph. My lugs were torqued to 85ft/bs. The tires are relatively new and don't seem worn unusually or anything. Is it possible to run hubcentric rings and hubcentric spacers? If that fails then I give up.

You can begin a process of elimination for tracking down the vibration problem.

Get the wheels match balanced on a Hunter9700 unit.

Take off the aftermarket wheels and use factory alloys, then observe the ride quality at highway speeds.

Rotate tires front to rear, to see if vibration changes(do you feel the shake, in the steering wheel, or in your behind?)... etc...

It's commonly thought that a vibration felt only at certain speeds, --one that appears, then disappears-- is tire/wheel balance-related.

Just because the tires may appear to be wearing somewhat evenly, doesn't mean you don't have a not-so-true casing or bent wheel. The inside lip of the wheel is often the culprit, and often goes unchecked for bent. It'd be hard to decide whether a tire is causing a shake, just by observing tire wear. Unless you have a de-laminated tire, but you'd feel that at all speeds. Does this help?

Yep, I feel the shake in the steering wheel so I'll try rotating them front to back. Do you know about my other question? Whether I can run both hubcentric rings and hubcentric spacers.

Are your spacers hub centric and wheel centric?

Here is a site to find the Hunter balance machine: http://128.242.141.111/

The only spacer setup that makes sense would have the spacer hub-centric to both the hub and the back of the wheel. It would not use a center ring. I'd check with H&R to see if they have a spacer that will fit inside the centerbore of your wheels without a ring.

The h&r hubcentric spacers retain the stock hub size, so you should still be able to use hubcentric rings on the spacer, and actually you would WANT to if you are running a aftermarket wheel that does not have the nissan hub bore...

A place I found that will make custom CNC spacers and adaptors with built in studs is Crow Auto.

They will cut wheel centric spacers as well. Great company, I have a set of 5mm and a set of 20mm from them.
