That's insane, well, in a good way. I drove a first generation Atom and it was a hoot. You're really out in the open. I can imagine doubling the power will make it tougher to keep the rear tires from grabbing under hard acceleration. Would be awesome to try it. :dblthumb:

I wanna hear one of them run in person.

It's pretty freakin' badass.

from a practical standpoint though, I think I'd rather have one with a K24 Hybrid and a Rotrex supercharger kit.

won't be quite 500 horses, but it'll have more low end grunt for tearin' a** out of corners.

thats pretty intense... If I ever had a lot of money, that would be a definite replacement for a bike.

^ I am not dumb.

It's a four-lugger! I wonder how much those wheels would go for... Great for an S13...

Color scheme is very Ducati. Daddy like.

Though I doubt it's a challenger to the Veyron's speed throne.

At one end of the paradigm scale is the new GT-R, at the other end this, I choose this. :dblthumb:

Hmm... he isn't exactly driving the piss out of that thing.

Also I noticed he mentioned that Ariel is building their own 3 liter V8 for it. Impressive amount of power out of a 3 liter, and I bet its still quite light. I wonder who makes their transmission.

Can't wait for top gear (UK) to test it :)

Is the transmission on that one a sequential?

I think they just used the Honda units on the other cars (why shouldn't they anyway, it's hard to beat Honda for a slick shifting manual, the synchros on the K series transmission don't much care for bad drivers though)

Yeah... pneumatically actuated auto-manual... looks/sounds similar to what a lot of teams use on the Formula SAE cars.
I wonder how the atom stores its compressed air (and what type it uses). The Mississippi State Formula SAE car used a CO2 tank from a paintball gun I believe (and filled it with CO2... I believe).
