Amazing what he was able to get away with ... you just have to look like you are safe, I suppose!

Anybody think Tariq, Tito, or Jesda could have gotten away with it?

Nope! Or I, for that matter. :chuckle:

Regardless of which, the laxness is bothersome. :tisk: Remember the decades-old Tel Aviv Airport shootings by for-hire Japanese terrorists? They sure did not look like Arabs from the PLO!

Yep. I remember the pregnant Irish lady whose husband put a bomb in her suitcase.

Honestly, as much as people kvetch about the "police state" of modern commercial air travel, I think it's not nearly stringent enough.

Anyone who wants to just walk through a metal detector and fly needs to be fully cleared, i.e. "FlyClear". Full background check and interview.

Otherwise, if you want to fly commercial without getting cleared:

That was my point - sorry I was not clear enough!

Even the existing "rules" are not being properly followed ...

No, no proof is needed. This is evidence that the ability to carry weapons onto planes isn't determined by one's skin tone.

...that probed the screens.

I'm with Hash though, I don't think that security screenings do nearly enough. There should be a metric sh**-tonne of checks that happen between the time of purchase and before the passenger ever gets to the airport. I'd like to see more VIPR teams on the ground and know (but never see) that there were more FAMs in the air.
