hrm should i do this to my exhaust

remove the resonator and put on a universal muffler? cheaper that hotshot headers + catback exhaust...and it saves lots of money towards the sr20 and then all that exhaust work would have been for nothing cause it would have to be bigger for the sr20...so for now since its cheaper i think thats what i do...but i just want some opinions on how u guys think that might sound....

Dont go the cheap way out. If you have to wait a little longer do it. If you're gonna go sr20det, you're gonna need exhaust anyway. Universal mufflers dont yeild any extra hp. Or you can just go ahead now and order a big enough exhaust thats 2.5" or 3.0". Thats enough for a sr20.

Put it in suspension parts

have midas or somewone custom bend you one in 3 inch my brothers freind had it doen for his camaro and it sounds awesome and free'd up like 5 hp but his camaro was already fast enough.

im taking it in to get rattling taken car of and i figure might as well make it sound beefy too...not too concerned about hp increase but want it to sound nice with out all the extra money...cause im saving for sr20...i love the sound of my engine reving and now i just need an exhaust to accent it... it would be the easy way out for now..but it wouldnt be for long

Like someone already said... If your going to have Exhaust system work done go ahead and get a 2.5 or 3 inch all the way.

I used a 95 240sx exhaust system (3 inch Apexi catback system, 3 inch Down Pipe, and 3 inch test pipe) on my sr20det.

Then why dont you just see what the rattling is first? If you're saving for an sr20, why not just keep saving for that. We're trying to tell you that you're wasting money just getting a universal muffler. Period, anyway you look at it.

If you just want it to "sound" good, go for it.

2 things you need to remember when modding: Patience and never taking the "cheap" way out. Both will make you regret your decisions later on down the line.

Another important thing to remember: Fix your car the way YOU want it too. We can only give suggestions and advice based on experience and expertise.

you can get a universal muffler thats stainless steel atleast and get it custom made for pretty cheap with a resonator size of you choice etc. when you swap over to sr it should work fine if its made with flanges to fit the oem ka downpipe.

i think if you do that to ur stock exhaust its going to sound worse. the piping on the stock exhuast it too small and with out the resonator it will be high pitched and anoying. it could buzz even more. boostevolutions has 3 inch exhaust perfect for the turbo set up you plan on doing and i think its 200 or 250. only problem is the site is down right now. check back in a few days.
