well ive been doing some research and parts ordering and its almost back together with the new turbo , all thats left is to fab the downpipe and install the new fuel pump. im going to run it at only 8psi for now until i can get it tuned properly but im really happy with the new turbo and the way it turned out so far and im hopeing that it will pull much nicer than with the stock turbo. i still have the larger tr44 turbo for sale brand new if anyone wants one but for my goal of 300whp the tr44 was much to large but anyways heres how shes looking and ill post up again when shes all done and running for an update.

Awesome, but why are you still runing that freaking carbon canister? Also, i'd get those crankcase ventilators hooked up asap via catch can or intake.

D: !!!!!! ITS PLUGGED?!

HOLY CRAP.

unplug it because there is pressure that builds up hardcore under those v/c's. A guy herer awhile ago had his hooked up wrong starved his head of oil and blew the motor

could someone please explain why i would need to unplug the valve cover ventalation ports, i mean even if i unplugged them and ran them to a oil catch can they would still ultimatley still be plugged and not vented to the atmosphere

i believe oil catch cans are vented, however i do not currently run one so idk for sure. I would follow other's advice.

your thinking of ones like the greddy. but the other plug is suppose to go to the intake. thus being vented.

ones most people use have your 2 openings then a filter on top.

seriously unplug that before it goes bad

im pretty sure you shouldnt have the pcv tubes plugged up too, its not good, they are there for a reason. not that i know what that reason is.

also, the fact not sealing those up you will be gunking up your head with misc dirt.

Hey captain, how did you get the original hose fittings out of the valve covers? Do they just screw out or are they pressed in? Your setup looks great BTW! Looks well thought out.

Refer to this thread on how to hook up a catch can. zerothread?id=155952

The way you have yours set up is BAD NEWS! When not under vacuum, the PCV is closed and the crank case gas has nowhere to go. It should be getting sucked into the intake under the stock setup, but instead it is being pressurized with each piston stroke. You have a very limited time before you **** up your motor.

Shocker - I think the holes are plugged or he'd have a huge oily mess on top of the valve covers.

klh6686 and captain- catch cans are vented...one hose comes from the two valve covers and the other hose goes to the intake pipe upstream of the turbo for suction. It would be pointless if one hose from each valve cover went to each side of the catch can. Some people only vent the catch can instead of running it to the intake, but I think a vacuum on one side of the catch can will vent the head better. I've also seen people simply put a breather filter on the valve cover...to each his own. Just don't plug it

darius, theyre just pushed in. so u can just pop em out. takes a bit of force.

depending on your engine, you might not even need a catch can. when mine was running, i had very lil to no blow by. so i just slapped a filter on top with no problems. was just the hose connecting the 2, then a filter on the 3rd opening.

routing it back into your intake is just for emissions. you can just throw a filter on it and be done

yeah I've seen it setup like that. cdorhout has his that way and has had no ill effects. I'm probably going to run one line to a catch can and then put a breather on the opposite side of the catch can.
