HR16de transmission/engine swap

My '09 Versa has just hit 170K miles and I am considering rebuilding the engine and in the process wanting to swap the 5 spd manual to a 6 spd. Any attempts at this? or would the MR18/20 have to go with the trans? Also is there anyway to "upgrade the HR16" to the MR18/20 (swapping the top and bottom of the engine ??, is the block the same ? idk....) and what steps would be required on the engine swap? I am having trouble finding support on the HR's.... or maybe someone could point me to the correct link/site.
