Hewlitt Packard made aircraft that flew too high?...j/k

A 300hp NA sounds like tough one. I don't think you have the time nor resources to delve into a project of that magnitude.

from all accounts 300 n/a hp is not feasible. youd spend thousands on custom work, labor, and dyno-tuning alone. talk to insanity inc or deviouska or djpants. i think hes trying to achieve a high n/a hp ka.

300hp is possible I suppose, but not probable. Especially not on pump gas. With the cam profile you'd need to make 300hp on the high end, your car overall would probably be slower than if it were making 270ish with a better power band.

Rebello makes their full race ka's to about 365 crank. so if you've really got the resources to do this just call them and have them send you one of their baja truck ka's. I'm sure it's not too much over 20k.

I don't know you, but my guess is that you wouldn't have a 240 if you had the funds to build a 300hp N/A ka.

I'm going to be building mine up as well.Goign to be a fun little car.Might end up racing it on the track.Or just become an off-road buggy due to me not being able to get a title for it.

sounds expensive to me. like was previously stated, 300 wheel is possible, and rebello already has that nailed. i cant imagine what one of those motors costs, and all the trick parts they use to spin a KA to 11,000 rpm, but this is definately not off the shelf stuff.

i'm not sure you couldnt have a 350z for what one of those things costs

what about 225-250 more easly reached or would still be looking at the big bux? my buget is around 2,000, i know i should go with a diff motor for that but this will be a slow build up not the hole 2k at once.

Wheel or crank? Crank would be easy. Rebuild it with SOHC pistons, put on a 3" exhaust, an intake and a set of cams and you'll hit that.

215 HP

If you gave it a 100 shot of nitrous...it might be feasable to make 300 for that price... Maybe

300CHP+ is obtainable, but it defenitely won't be smogable. The bottom end will have to be completely redesigned. The engine alone will have to make power atleast to 7000RPM instead of the typical 5960 peak power in stock form.Extremely aggressive cams, larger injection, really high compression in the 15:1 cr or higher .It may even need a petro/ethyl mixture. After all the work/effort you decide to put into it, it can run you up just $8000 in fabrication, and parts. Thats not including the labor to put it together.

Shooting for a smogable 230CHP is more possible with a bumped up cr in the 10's or 11's. Mildly aggressive cam set up. An ecu retune, intake and full modified exhaust system. Advanced timing up to 23 BTDC is the legal smogable limit, and a good gass 101octane or better. Knife edged crank would be a good way to go, or a fully counter weighed custom crank from SCAT. There are also affordable alternatives like crank scrapers. Bored out TB from MAX bore for $100 bored from the stock 60mm to 65mm and comes with a new butterfly.
