About how much hp can you make w/o replacing the stock sr turbo? I'm aiming at 300 with some bolt ons and I'm wondering how much cash I'm going to have to invest to get that much hp (a little racing, no drag, mostly a street car), wondering whether I can be as much of a bum in college as in highschool. :alcoholic

Depends what you are looking for rwhp or at the flywheel. My car is dynoed in at 209.4hp and 206.7ft/lb at 7 psi. With all the basic bolt-ons exhaust, greddy FMIC, fuel filter, fuel pump, down pipe, no clutch fan. I am boosting no 10-12 psi with an upgraded ECU so I figure my numbers are 260hp at least with 12psi. Limit is 14psi for injectors so that would give you 280hp with maybe a head gasket, fuel pressure regulator, lightened flywheel. 300hp is defininely attainable with all the listed mods and no AC or power steering, but you will be pushing your fuel system to its limit.

Thanks, I'll have to think about upgrading the fuel system in awhile.

The best idea to get 300 hp is to upgrade to the T28 off of an S15. That way you wouldnt be killing the T25 since it wouldnt last too long running anything near 300hp.

From Phase 2 they are 900 brand new, so a little bit less used, or if your lucky you might be able to get one on ebay cheaper. Or better yet get a friend in Japan.

We could all use a friend in Japan...

Anyway, how much crank hp would a t28 produce in a relatively stock s13, maybe 12-13psi?

Unfortunately the T28 is about that much in Japan, they're damn expensive over there.

Also, for 12-13hp stick with the T25, no sense in spending the money.

Thanks for the advice, I'll just work the extra 30 or so hp out when I actually get the thing in the car, it's not like I don't have time to work it out...

ok, if I don't upgrade to a t28, don't put too much through the stocker, what next, t3/4? What do you recommend for a 300 or 320rwhp turbo? costs?

ok, looks good.

Is there anything less than the 4k I'd have to drop on HKS's that you would recommend? I read that the turbo off of the s15 sr20 is a Gt2530, how much would that cost (I'm searching, but most of the searches come up in dead ends), hp range, etc...?

some S15s are GT2530s, some aren't, its actually rather odd, just like some struts are labeled with KYB. You can buy the turbo alone for about 1000 dollars and it fits on the stock manifold, same flange... : ) You can also get the GT2530 from a number of other turbo providers, HKS just relabels their turbos anyways.

About how much crank hp would a stock sr20 with a greddy cat, 3"downpipe, make with a gt2530? wheel?

Oh yeah, and I'm not just a noob dreaming, well, I'm a noob, but that's not the point, I'm just trying to figure out whether to look for an internship or a job, and I need to figure out what classes to take, etc... ya know, balancing act.

u can run a t3/to4e, log-style manifold...probably within the 1500 mark. if ur gonna run a bigger turbo, i'd upgrade fuel first. injectors, pump, filter...also, z32 maf. u don't wanna burn up the turbo like i did.
