Any time you come close to doubling the horsepower on a car, it's going to take some extreme modifications. Cars are a little overbuilt, sure, but my estimate is that with "CYA" ratings (cover your ***) they'd only be able to withstand the rotational inertia and other forces put on the parts by a magnitude of an additional 30-50%.

Also, with the 119 or so HP motor in the versa, I don't think there's anything you can bolt onto it short of an electric blower to get it up that high, and at that point you're going to just blow out the engine. It may require a total swap and due to legal issues, you have to replace it with an engine that is as old, or newer than the one that's in there. The engine compartment is already tight, so it'd take even more radical modifications to get something else to fit.

200 HP out of a Versa will take MAJOR modifications, many of which are not available yet.

You'd need a high-pressure turbo (that 7 psi turbo you showed us won't cut it, try 14-15 pounds), forged internals to handle the stress (not yet made), a SAFC, high-flow injectors, headers, exhaust, probably an intercooler... then you'd be in the neighborhood.

a quicker way to get the same power would be to find a way to shove a QR25DE in the engine bay. Noone has done that yet that I know of.

I, for one, want a comfortable, small but roomy car with room to carry stuff around. I also want it to be fairly zippy. The Versa is a perfect match for everything that I want aside from the lack of zippiness. So, in my situation, if I were able to add a few (meaning 15-20) HP to the car, it would meet my needs/wants almost perfectly.

I don't really care about the mpg. I don't drive enough for it to make much of an impact on my monthly budget.

You say but a car with a bigger engine. Cars with bigger engines also tend to have bigger bodies. I went and test drove an Altima SE but I just could not get comfortable driving it.

I hope that helps you understand why someone might buy a Versa and then try to get a few more HP out of it.
