Just wondering so i can get an idea and such, but how much horsepower will i gain when putting on a short ram intake/ how much would i get with a cold air intake .....

and the second part is how much hp would i gain when installing a catback exhaust system?

If you do the short ram you sould see around 3-6hp,And maybe a few more with the cold air.

With a good catback id say around 5-8hp.

You sould say what year your 240 is....

err...ok, now isnt the stock KA24DE engine pushing 155bhp from the factory? i mean i know that with the years and abuse of various owners a 240 can lose quite a lot of horses but man that was a hell of a loss.

i wonder what my 93' 240SX KA24DE does right now...i have a new exhaust installed and lowered the car 2.2-front / 2.1/back. where could i get a hold of a good intake.

good intake.. hmm lets see.. not to be an ***, but, if you had thought for a second before posting that..there are a lot of sources to get at it.you wanna go cheap, go ebay.wanna go bling, go aem, injen, whatever.

155 @ the crank.like 15% (iirc) loss through the drivetrain.alot more from poor maintenance, etc, etc. expect about 125 rwhp tops if you take it to the dyno.

and.. clean coupe!

Like "babowc" said...manufacturers rate HP at the crank...RWHP is typically ~12-15% lower AT THE LEAST.

Sometimes ~20% lower if you have an auto trans, etc...

A decent, stock KA24DE will dyno around ~125-130rwhp...like the charts I posted above.
