Isn't the G35 sedans and coupes produced in Japan as well? How were they tuning those cars? Or was anyone? Is it going to take weeks to figure out the ROM for every persons M they want tuned?I sure hope not.

No, once they crack mine it should be wide open for other 2nd Gen M45's.

It's still an overnight your ecu to them and they send it back...the best option is find a Pro Tuner in your area

There are no tuners in my area that will tune this car. I already asked around.I would just drive to UpRev and have them dyno tune the car. I would of course send them whatever they need prior and just spend 1/2 a day there when they are ready to tune my car.

If you could leave your car there for 2-3 days it'd be done and your car would be tuned

Why would i need to leave it there for 2-3days???They will not be tuning it for more than a few hours on the dyno.

Crazy, but I stumbled onto this post. Tony really took good care of this ride and the exhaust and intake sound sweet! Probably the best sounding car I have ever owned.

I love the engine in this thing, but Im always looking for more power/speed. Is there any other bolt on mods that can be done for more horsepower gains?
Hey Michael!!

I'm so glad you like the car! It's SOOO nice to know that she went to a good home.

I've got an aftermarket intake on the Jag, but it still doesn't sound as good as the M. I loved to hear that sound when you started the car. I sure wish Element 114 would have made an exhaust for the XF, I'd have purchased one for sure. And I paid quite a bit more for the Jag exhaust, since it had to come from the UK. The Element 114 was a bargain!!

I guess I'm not understanding why the intake kit is on your car since Toni's test results concluded a loss in power with the addition of the intake kit.Didn't you get the same thoughts out of the beginning of this thread's info listed from Toni?Did I read something wrong?

J
As Michael has found out, the sound of the intake alone makes it worth whatever power you lose. The M at full throttle is VERY gratifying!

Thanks, Z.

I absolutely LOVE the Jag, but I have to admit that she's been in the shop at least 4 times since I bought her. There seems to be some electrical gremlins in the system. Of course, I knew of Jaguar's reputation before I bought it, and don't forget the XF is a brand new model. So hopefully with any luck the "issues" will be permanently solved soon.

As a side note, the service I've received from the Jaguar dealership is by far better than what I experienced with Infiniti.

Better sound is no justification to compensate a loss in power! That's my opinion. Who wants less power???????

They still need to crack the ROM, that's what they are trying to do with mine. Rich told me if someone would go down and be able to leave their car with them for 2-3 days it would be done and tuning would then open up to every 2nd gen M45 owner.

He did say that it might not take the full 2-3 days but it might just so they got everything done exactly right.

Call them up, aren't you pretty close to them? You may be our only hope.

For a loss in power that you cant feel or notice, justifys it for me. Im not racing or anything and it has plenty of power.

I get many more compliments on the sound, than wow you are .2 of a second faster.

If you were racing all the time, of course I agree.
