This forum rocks - thanks to all who monitor and contribute!

I will soon take the Cabin Filter change challenge but had no idea there were seat filters - I hardly use the AC on the seats as it feels like I have a wet shirt back but still want to limit the dust I breath...

Feel around for it, you'll feel the fuzzy filter material and just unscrew it (it screws/locks into place).

Thanks for the instructions and images Ilya. So for those that have gone OEM, is the difference between the 272771ME0A and 272771ME0B (for Forest Air, tech package etc) just the charcoal?
Is the grape scent a concern as mentioned here:
post6725162.html#p6725126
And as discussed here, it seems that no cartridges are offered any more, just a scented filter?
post6740785.html#p6740785

I am at the dealership and definitely not feeling their $56 before tax cost for my car, especially if I can get the TYC charcoal one for 14 bucks. Just curious, and also bumping to see what other part numbers people have had success with.

Hey Ilya I finally got around to replacing the cabin air filter and cleaning the filter discs under the seats.

Thanks to you I saved money and completed the work in about 15 minutes - so good of you to share your knowledge.

Many thanks, Dave

Spending anything over $1.00 for the seat filters is throwing your $ Far away, Just pull it out put some Dawn soap on it and wash it under the sink and let it dry outside for an hour. Cost $0.0

after:

No need to buy new, they should be able to be cleaned a dozen times or more if done gently...

Are both the glove box filter and the center in dash filter the same model number? I want to buy it first then take apart the dang dash! I replaced the glove one 30k miles ago and like others I HATED IT! Only an Engineer on Crack could of designed it that way to F&*% with us....

Center In-Dash Filter? I'm only aware of the cabin filter which is behind the glove box.

So, it was time to do this again (seat filters) and I took mine out and washed them up a bit and dried them. I think it works slightly better, but I think the more you do it, the less it works each time because the filter media gets roughed up.

I've reached out to Arago to see if they ship their Arago A87383R filter state side and am waiting to hear back.

I also steamed my front seats to try to clean the perforated leather a bit to increase air flow. That might have helped more than washing the filters.

For the seat filters, you can always just cut the fiber filter away and glue in some foam from a washable engine air filter.

Do we even need a filter there? Otherwise, do you have an example of such a filter? 'washable air filter' just showed me a bunch of KN's online.

Yep, the filters on climate seats are positively necessary. If the heat-sink for the Peltier gets covered with dust and debris its efficiency will drop and eventually the Peltier element will overheat and fail. That can compromise the wiring as well, because failing Peltiers draw more current the hotter they run. Melted ground contacts at the controller are the usual result on a Nissan.

The stuff from the K&N wraps will work fine, but you're better off getting a sheet of the BF-4 bulk foam they sell for lawnmower and dirt bike filters. One 15x12" sheet will do both seat filters several times over and allow for mistakes with scissors or glue.

Thanks for the tips as always! I will likely just have to do that because sourcing these for a reasonable amount of say $30-40 is impossible. Lowest I've seen is like $90.

So, I bought the foam but as I was trying to get some measurements online, I saw a comment on Amazon that said the Motorcraft FS100 worked for a QX70 so my guess is Infiniti used the same part for our cars. Found the same one online at Walmart.com which looks like it's NOT just the plastic, but the filter media itself. Will give it a try and if not return to Walmart.

I have ordered these Motorcraft- FS100 filters and can attest that they fit perfectly: https://www.amazon.com/Motorcraft-FS100 ... B000EQ8XOK

Perfect.

I think washing/drying is fine once or twice, but by the 3rd time, the filter media just looks terrible and may actually lose its performance.

Got my filters and can confirm as well that they fit. $40 for 2 is better than $90 for one!
