You're welcome Dave, glad I could help!
Center In-Dash Filter? I'm only aware of the cabin filter which is behind the glove box.kdreger wrote: ↑Tue Oct 26, 2021 11:44 amAre both the glove box filter and the center in dash filter the same model number? I want to buy it first then take apart the dang dash! I replaced the glove one 30k miles ago and like others I HATED IT! Only an Engineer on Crack could of designed it that way to F&*% with us....
For the seat filters, you can always just cut the fiber filter away and glue in some foam from a washable engine air filter.Ilya wrote: ↑Sat Dec 11, 2021 9:53 amSo, it was time to do this again (seat filters) and I took mine out and washed them up a bit and dried them. I think it works slightly better, but I think the more you do it, the less it works each time because the filter media gets roughed up.
I've reached out to Arago to see if they ship their Arago A87383R filter state side and am waiting to hear back.
Do we even need a filter there? Otherwise, do you have an example of such a filter? 'washable air filter' just showed me a bunch of KN's online.VStar650CL wrote: ↑Sat Dec 11, 2021 11:19 amFor the seat filters, you can always just cut the fiber filter away and glue in some foam from a washable engine air filter.Ilya wrote: ↑Sat Dec 11, 2021 9:53 amSo, it was time to do this again (seat filters) and I took mine out and washed them up a bit and dried them. Thanks for the tips as always! I will likely just have to do that because sourcing these for a reasonable amount of say $30-40 is impossible. Lowest I've seen is like $90.VStar650CL wrote: ↑Sun Dec 12, 2021 8:02 amYep, the filters on climate seats are positively necessary. If the heat-sink for the Peltier gets covered with dust and debris its efficiency will drop and eventually the Peltier element will overheat and fail. That can compromise the wiring as well, because failing Peltiers draw more current the hotter they run. Melted ground contacts at the controller are the usual result on a Nissan.
The stuff from the K&N wraps will work fine, but you're better off getting a sheet of the BF-4 bulk foam they sell for lawnmower and dirt bike filters. One 15x12" sheet will do both seat filters several times over and allow for mistakes with scissors or glue.

I recently did this too but I just remove all of the screws and dropped the whole thing - didn't need to remove the box off of it's 'track', etc.emm3seven wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2026 12:01 pmFYI, I discovered this afternoon that replacing the cabin filter can be done without popping the glovebox out of its tracks. Just use a very long magnetized screwdriver and you can access the two bottom corner screws and the back center screw.
You’re trading one pain for another if you drop a screw, but I was able to do this job in about 15 minutes without removing the hinged glovebox from the shell. Which is nice since my Grom unit is a real PITA to deal with since it’s threaded through the glovebox.
