Anyone ever heard of "Inner Fire" timing chain kits?

Someone told me its no so much as the quality of the guides/tensioner, but more so the chain (or something like that). I havent seen any other resonable kits, if you know any besides piecing together an OEM one, let me know. This one is $80 shipped.

I did a search on here, but I couldnt find any other brands.

that kit looks like its just the parts for the lower portion of the timing chain.. but i see a cam sprocket is it for the 24e? the only other kit i've seen is the topline ones and have heard afew stories about them. i personally haven't replaced my timing chain yet so i haven't had any real hand experience with any of them. but for 80 shipped it sounds like a deal

being that he owns a 90 with the sohc, it looks like all the parts are there. Try it out, that's the only way you'll truly know.

Out of this whole list: http://www.courtesyparts.com/S13_SOHC-TBKIT.html whats absolutely necessary to buy? I could try to buy the same pieces as in that Inner Fire kit.

My first timing chain I replaced it with one from advanced auto. One of the tensioners went out after a week, I took it back. Then I bought the Courtesyparts timing chain package.

Yeah, see Im gonna use Courtesy parts (and use Midway for a couple of parts thats cheaper) but from the courtesy parts website, did you get EVERYTHING listed? Look right up above your post, and look at the parts Im thinking of getting.

Don't need the thermostat unless it need to be replaced but its a good idea to replace it since you are right there. But definitely get a new timing chain especially if it has chewed threw the guides. It would also suck not to replace the chain and have to replace a complete motor a year down the road. I had a DOHC motor.

I hate to hijack this thread but I just bought a 96 240sx and had read a post or two on this already. It has 61,000 miles on it so I called the dealer to ask about the 60,000mile service and asked if they inspect the timing chain and he said no. So what's the deal? How often does this need to be checked and how come the dealer isn't aware of this.

Oh, by the way. My brother had an s13 and when he found out I was buying a s14 that was the first thing he warned me about.
