I ask because I am planning on using an SR20DET harness and computer to run another engine so I may have to modify it in a few places. I intend to eventually go with a standalone so I will want to yank er out and sell it at that point. I take very good care of my customers when I sell parts so I want to have it in a very nice condition for whoever ends up buying it in a year or two so I pose the question, how would you prefer it were you buying it?In places I have to modify I could cut and then terminate with a plug so the original end and or sensor in question could be plugged back in or I could retain the original stuff and when I pull it back out cut off the modifications, solder it back together as original and shrinkwrap the connections.

for my own use i'd use quick release. but if i was to sell it i'd make it as close to factory as possible.

I like the modularity of plugs too. I switch stuff around so much it saves me time and BS.
