How would YOU make NissanVersa.org better?

In 2010 the staff members are doing things to make it better. We're creating more info to share about the car. More DIY tech tips. Bringing more products to the Versa corner.

So, my question to you is "How would YOU make it better?" I want to know how you would change it. More info, yep. Better flow, yep. Do you want different forum categories? Do you want different sections to the site? What else beyond the forums will make it better?

More downloads?More info, like what?More articles, on what topics?

I would like to see more articles. Detailed write ups on installations would be great. I try to post whatever I do on the forums so others can do the same to thier cars (ie. Walmart foglight thread) Also, it'd be nice if sponsors can be more active in here. I know there isn't a huge aftermarket for the Versa but some proven results with pictures of before and after would be great to generate interest. I'm not sure is Versaspeed is a sponsor or not, but if Bob was more active on here, posting pictures and results from his modifications with the profucts he sells, it'd be great.

Now if someone was to sponsor me, i'd post the hell out of thier product...

How about turning the Versa Owner Introduction forum into a Versa Owner Introduction/Showoff forum? People love to see pictures...and there isn't an appropriate place to post them at the moment other than the one sticky Ultimate Post a Picture of your Versa Thread.

A function I use all of the time on other boards I frequent: A link to view posts made since I last signed on. Now I have to look at multiple pages to see what's new, and often skip some to save time. On other boards it's all available in one place, yet the categories are all still viewable on their own.

Cannan,I think that a couple new categories would be great to add. I was thinking "show off", product reviews/products, and issues. This way things are easier to find for new comers. Also have some ideas of a "new" tech page.

William,Your idea is basically what I am aiming for. More articles, more write ups, and more sponsors. I have been trying to get some new write ups going and stuff but since my site is just starting up it's not working out too well. If Greg's offer still stands I have lots of ideas I'd like to throw out. Stay tuned, hopefully everything will go as planned.

Bob is the only sponsor of our forum right now. It's a hard sell to get more companies on board because the traffic is low and the amount of potential buyers is low also. So, this is why I am turning to those that come to the forum. With the big sofware upgrade in 6-8 weeks that AZHitman mentioned, it's a great chance to get more people in here. With more viewers, more sponsors will want to be here with us, and they will in turn get more products available.

Thanks for considering my suggestion. "Recent Topics", though, looks like it only shows topics I've participated in, and "Active Topics" shows all NICOclub posts. I can certainly wait 6-8 weeks (or more!) for something I didn't expect in the first place!

But someone in the Nico General forum brought up the idea of having a reference similar to toyotareference.com

I know this is, essentially, asking for another website in our already amazing selection of Nissan sites, but I think it is something that would benefit, not only Nico, but Nissan enthusiast around the world that need a definitive Nissan reference. Figured I would talk about it here and not deal with some of the craziness in General. That is just me though, lol.

Not sure if someone has already suggested this, but how about a "For Sale / Wanted" section. I know there is the thread put up, but I think this would do well on it's own, and you could see the latest items people are offering.

As this section gets bigger, we could possibly have a Versa-only classifieds.

It's tough logistically because some parts are totally interchangeable (like wheels), some are slightly interchangeable (like suspension - versa and cube), and some are exclusive. Classifieds is the HARDEST part of a forum to manage.

We had that at one time for all members but it started filling up with ebay stuff and junk pictures and when users did a image search it would effectively make the forums go to sleep for 10 minutes. We eventually had to shut it down.

Unlikely. That can get expensive.

Smaller forums can get away with it, but not with the traffic we get... plus, a LOT of our images get hotlinked elsewhere (which is good), but it's a further drain on our (your) resources.

It's always been my position that our resources are best applied where they can do the most good for the community.

I just sent one, I was going to send another but I just figured I could tell you in the forums that I would like to accept your offer. As was mentioned above, a FAQ or section discussing the differences between the 07,08,09,10 Versas, differences between trim levels, what options were available, etc.

A parts interchange would be great, I know I'd like to have a '10 grille on my '09, but does it fit?

Also, since there are now more Versas available as used cars, a 'buyer's guide' article would be really nice, not so much discussing prices, more like common issues, things to look for, maint issues, common rust spots, etc.
