How would you lock the car if u dont want to have the fob with you?

since i live in hawaii, i got to surf. so i was wondering if anyone knew how to lock the car with the fob in it while just taking the key with them. i just got my car and the waves are up but i dont know how to lock the car with the fob in it and im pretty sure the fob isnt water proof. please help

how bout putting your key fob in front of your gas cap. when done surfing use the metal key to open door and unlock the gas thing.

Did you ever notice the KEY that is hidden in the key fob??

You know the button you press on the door? the tumbler and key hole are right next to it

Wassup bruddah 808! I used to surf all the time on the east side (China Walls, Pillars, Maks) and what I did was hit the arm button while having the key in hand and tossing the fob under the seat. There's was a slight delay in the locking mechanism so I'd just toss it and slam the door shut very quickly. Then when I was pau, I'd open the door and the alarm would sound while I'd search under my seat for the fob to disarm. I know, kinda ghetto style, but hey, it worked.

I like it too, only problem is, the car "senses" when the key is approx. 33" or closer. That might be too close to the door/trunk and allow someone to open the door and/or trunk.
