how would you guys go about fixing a leaking headgasket?

one of my friends said to torque the head bolts to about 86 pounds. (stock is 76).. i wasnt sure to call this idea dumb, or not..

Follow the manual. You do not fix a leaking gasket by tightening the head bolts. Once the seal is breached, you must replace it.

so the only option for me is to replace the entire headgasket.. right?if this is true itll be my 2nd headgasket replacement. yay.
