How wide a tire can i put on the factory 15inch alum rims?
Have 195/60s on old Sentra with 14s no prob.
Are 205s do-able on V?

And will 14s from 2001 Sentra ...with snows... bolt right on to Versa?
I see bolt pattern is the same, but how is the clearance over calipers? :ohno:

195 is the widest I'd go on the 15s, they are narrow.

Just have to put on the 14s to see if the front calipers will clear.

205 is the widest recommended on a 5.5" wide wheel. And there were a few old threads where people have tried 14" wheels and said they don't fit. The calipers are already really close to the stock 15"s.

I just ordered this past Wednesday a set of Goodyear Eagle GT 195/60/R15s from TireRack for my SL. Having them put on today. If you are looking for a wider tire you might want to look at these. I had these put on (different size of course) my wife's Mazda 3 and they look wider than the OEM tire of the same size. She says it gives her car the "grrrr factor". They also have a non symmetrical tread patter which looks pretty good.

Thanks for the 14 report! I did not thoroughly research old posts.
Ironic I'm inquiring about a 14 inch "upgrade" when 17s are stylin' eh? :lolling:
But after 08V delivery today, I can conclusively report that
the 14s from the sentra Do Not Fit
Neither the stock 14 steelies with snows
nor the after market alloy 14s.
Boo.
I'm a little surprised since the V sedans come with factory 14s!?!?!
Around here they do anyway.
Must be smaller calipers, and they are 1.6L motor only.
Thank you for your input everyone!
Looks like I'll have to pry the wallet out this winter...

I do believe the base 1.6 sedan has smaller calipers. It wouldn't surprise me. It's a stripped down model that weighs less and less weight means less braking power needed.
