Pow!

Books and watches from Moscow: 5 daysGauge cluster and misc electronics from Japan: 5 daysNismo S-Tunes from New York (80 lb box): 4 days

All through different carriers.

Four eccentric washers for a 240sx rear end from Seattle: 11 DAYS via UPS and I still haven't seen them. That's it. I refuse to use UPS for anything ever again. Even if it means that I can't do business with certain establishments because they only ship via UPS, that's fine. UPS is 100% blacklisted from here on out.

EVERY SINGLE PACKAGE that UPS has "tried" to send me over the last two years has been delayed or they sent it third-party via balloon in some poor dudes rectum.

Denver got a little snow last week............BOOM! Shipment delayed. Package finally made it to Salt Lake.............BOOM! Shipment delayed for unknown reasons. I could have driven to Seattle and back with plenty of time to spare, but here I am, trying to convince NICO members not to use UPS.

Oh, a 300% increase in shipping cost to use FedEx...........BOOM! Sign me up because UPS sucks.

They all have their ups and downs.

We've sent out thousands of packages via UPS and honestly 1 out of 250 ever has an issue. Usually it's due to a human error by either us, the customer, or UPS. We have had very few incidents with stuff just dissapearing.

Local shipping from UPS is usually ok for me. Never had any delays and have had a couple shipped 2-3 days earlier than expected. But then again, they place they are shipping from is only 20 mins away.

Stupid newegg and their refusal to allow pickups.

I work at UPS, but only for the paycheck. I agree it sucks lol. You would **** yourself if you saw what people do to the boxes at UPS and Fedex.

I feel for you.

I had my own incident with UPS 3 years ago, their customer service is a joke. I switched all my office courier needs to Fedex or Canada Post Priority Courier.

I had a friend who worked at UPS (not a driver). All I can say is, you better hope your fragile package doesn't say "fragile: handle with care" anywhere on it. Apparently, that's a UPS secret code for "drop kick me 10' across the warehouse".

I've had more packages damaged by UPS than Fed Ex, but that's just my experience. I had to have a computer case shipped twice because it was mangled in transit. The first time it was mildly damaged, the second was so bad they didn't even try to deliver it!

well there are people out there like that...i saw a box the other day that had the direction arrows and there was a foot with a big circle and line through it. someone went to extra trouble to remind us not to kick it. gave me a good laugh while i worked.

I ship and receive a lot of stuff and I'll agree that UPS is definately one of the worst. My UPS driver is great and he always takes care of the stuff once its in his possession, but by then its usually late and beat up. Fedex has NEVER been late for me and DHL seems good from the dozen times or so I've used them.

On the USPS topic, they are good, but does anyone seriously send anything of great value through the post office? One look at the postal employees (my awesome mailman excluded) and that's enough to scare me away from letting them handle rare and expensive car parts.

Go with FEDEX of DHL if its valuable stuff. Otherwise use USPS.

Not to sound like the Devil's Advocate here (God forbid I do a Keanu Reeves impression) but instead of posting your complaints on NICO, why not got to http://www.ups.com?

I've sent literally thousands of packages over the past few years, UPS, Fed Ex, USPS, Greyhound...like Al said, they all have their ups and downs. But when properly reported you'll find they can be very accommodating. Also, you can very easily track the package with the tracking number and determine if there's something fishy going on.

Some businesses use what's called UPS Worldship. This system prints labels and produces tracking numbers. It's pretty easy to get a tracking number for an unshipped package. You should check the tracking number and see exactly where the package was on the prior day. If it says the tracking number is no good...it's probably not shipped. If it shows the package scanned in a city nowhere in between...it probably got shipped wrong. You can even see if it's been delivered and if it was signed for you can see the image of the signature.

The point is you can't always assume it's the shipping company's fault. Do the legwork, find you package and get it to you. Complaining only gives you those unsightly lines on your forehead.

I switched to ups because USPS lost 5 packages and ended up costing almost 100 bucks to fix their errors. If only dhl had better locations.

UPS delays for me EVERY time now. I feel your pain. It pisses me off something serious. Did you know you can get a refund if the package doesnt arrive in the alloted time (except for Ground)?

Just to clarify my reasoning: My dad's company ships machines and machine parts using many different carriers, and FedEx is almost always the fastest delivery time and cheapest.

UPS has destroyed 2-3 of these machines (at least$900 loss per), while FedEx has only damaged one (which was the result of a bad packaging job).

I complained when my computer case was damaged (twice) and really got nothing out of it. Until they can track down the boot prints on my packages, CSI-style...I don't think there's much they're going to do.

I do have to say, complaining to UPS was more rewarding than complaining to the USPS. A word of advice: if you ever have to complain to the USPS about something, don't bother. Pick an inanimate object of your choice (chair, tree, large pile of dirt) and just complain to that. You'll get the same level of satisfaction without the trip to the Post Office.
