Check the camber. Some will tell you to check the play in the link, but I disagree. My observations are that the rubber gets harder over time. It deforms and takes a set, but it doesn't necessarily loosen up, just changes its angle. If they have over 60k on them I would change them both on general principle. Tires should wear a little more evenly. For the clicking also look at the sway bar and end link bushings.

I agree.. ITs even hard to check them when theyre out of the car.. Its a sort of thing where you get them out of the car, you look at them, and think, ok, what do i do now.....

Mine squeal like two small pigs under the hood, and they spec fine according to the FSM's play measurement, so I would tentatively agree. I think the squealing is caused by the rubber on one or more bushing coming loose from its metal sleeve.

I changed my upper links every 25k to 30k miles, only going to 35k once as I recall.

They would not be totally dead at that time. But the gradual degradation would fool you into thinking you did not have a problem, and the handling difference would only be clear after the the new ones were in there!

I agree, that may be a little conservative but its the way to do it... I thought tech does his at 60k?

Either way, if you know your oging to have your Q for a long time, id get some aftermarket ones

What kind of upper links do you suggest over the OEM links? I'm overdue after reading this post.

I like the SPL adjustables, theyll run you $350 but dont need any maintenance for a long time, and when the bearings do wear out, they can just press in new ones...

Me too. If they squeal, they are toast.

If they are adjustable but the stock ones aren't, how do you adjust them correctly? Do you just go to 0 camber?

Thanks for the input...

Does the drive shaft on the Q45\G50 need replacing that often?also I hear a clicking coming the rear now when taking off or moving from park to another gear.
