if you get the wiring harness from a auto parts store it should have the wiring diagram or you can buy a plug and play one but its like 75 bucks vs 25 for the one you have to wire up

standard 4 wire will only give brake and running lights, they are designed for american cars that use tailight as blinker. nissan has 3 bulbs not 2 so to get all lights to work you have to buy a harness adapter to make it work, but it is plug and play no need to splice.

I just installed one on my '04, which is essentially the same setup. Paid about $35 for it at Pep Boys. The connectors have changed, but otherwise the same deal. As RT22 mentioned, our trucks have separate turn signal bulbs, but standard 4 wire trailer lights use the same bulb for the brake and turn signal. These adaptors are by far the easiest plug-and-play option.

I rewired my trailer with the rectangular LED submersable kit from Harbor Freight which was on sale for $30 last week. Added amber side markers on the front sides and two LED markers along the back of the trailer - mostly because I just had them sitting around from a purchase I made several years ago. It turned out really nice, and if anyone ever runs in to me it damn sure isn't going to be because they couldn't see me!
