hello,
i just bought my first 240sx its 97' s14 and i wanted to do the electric fan conversion.
i have been looking at the diy's on nico and i want to run my fans automatic when the temperature reaches 170*
so i read this DIY: how-to-wire-up-an-e-fan-the-really-wasy ... 42522.html
and this is for an s13.
So i started looking for a coolant sensor but im not sure which one to get and i can't find the one that this guy used.
i found that AEM sells a kit for sensor but its not adjustable which can be set to 170*
also looked at summit racing and they sell the kits which would not alow me to run AC. so i am wondering where i can get a sensor that was used in the DIY link i provided.
I'm looking to do this today so help would be very appreciated.
and if anyone has any idea to wire them w/o a switch inside to turn on the fans please let me know please.
thank you

I went to napa and got one. Ask for a thermostatic switch. It's made by Derale, and it has worked fine for me, except I just ripped the radiator probe out so I have to get another one. It costs like 30 bucks.

You'll also need a relay(atleast if you wanna do it right)

The link to summit racing is pretty much the exact same thing. You're looking to run both fans off this? My bad. I have one of my fans hooked up to the original plug for the single fan, and the 2nd fan wire to the thermostatic switch. Give me a minute so I can sketch up a diagram in paint

Ok here you go. The controller is the Derale thermo switch. There's 2 poles labled 2 and C. If I had the instructions I'd be able to tell you what each one does in case you get one that isn't labled the same. Hope this helps!

Actually if i want to run my ac, i would have to run 1 of fan w/ the stock ac fan harness..and then wire the 2nd fan to the controller (also i am guessing u r refering to the first link of hyden controler? which is this one : http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HDA-3653 )
and do u know how the radiator probe is hooked up?
thanks for the diagrams..helps alot!!

Yes, that's how Im running mine. And that hyden controller looks exactly like my Derale one, I just don't know if the poles are labled "2" and "C", which isn't a big deal if it isn't. But you might as well go to autozone and get one so that you don't have to wait for shipping, but that's up to you.

The probe just sticks into the radiator fins. It's bind a couple, but that won't hurt it. I can't remember if it told me exactly where to put it on the radiator(I hooked it up about a year ago), but I had mine at the top left corner when standing in front of the car looking back. I'm sure it has to be near the inlet. I mounted the controller behind the passenger headlight. Ill find the pics later if I have them

Yea I got mine at Napa. They had to order, but I picked it up the next day. This is the only pic I could find. You can see it behind the passenger headlight

And here's the controller with the poles labled incase whichever one you get isn't labled the same
