Hi I'm a NOOB. I've never owned a car worth cleaning and babying until I bought my G. That said I have never waxed a car. No big deal right the internet is a wondrous place with a ton of articles and video's that teach you how right.... Riiight... What The....

So after searching for a couple of hours I have realized that getting people to agree on how to wax a car is futile. Every video has a list of comments blasting the monkey in the video. Now there is all this talk about clear coat safe, circles Vs no circles... Only wax twice a year... wax every month... Don't use this on new paint,... 1 coat of wax, 4 coats with some special goop that's prolly Zebra splooge in between each layer.. Are you kidding?

I never claimed to be a car guy but I know what I like... I love my G and I'm scared shartless to wax the thing... It's brand new less than 3000 miles... Do I even need to wax it so soon?

Does anyone have a link to a site that has a definitive answer to How to wax a car that you guys agree with?

I'm not entering any shows I just want the G to look it's best. I don't care if it takes me 10 min or 2 hours I enjoy cleaning the car I just don't want to ruin the finish.

Welcome to Nico

You'll see lots of disagreement how to wax. Hack most places can't agree what wax to use.

I am usually lazy and just do a quick detail on the car. But if you want a really good detailing job you have to take a time and the tools to do that.

It depends what kind of job you want to do. Is there any swirl marks, scratches, etc or just a regular waxing.

Make sure you using only soft microfiber cloth anything else will make it worst than you start with.

There is a detailing forum on Nico.

It probably has lots of good info. Just please don't listen some of the youtube videos and comments.

Also Autopia has some good info if I remember right.

Be carefull when waxing the car that you are not causing damage that you need wax for.

Basically I mean you want to make sure your car is very clean. Then use a good quality wax. The othe poster mentioned microfiber which is what I use but with one additional comment. Try to use a borderless microfiber cloth of high quality. many cloths have borders that will actually scratch.

Make sure you have a good supply as well and change cloths frequently. Wash and dry them separately to keep the link of other material out of them.

Autopia has a lot of good detailing info.

As for the products, I've never heard anything bad about Zaino. Not a single person has called it crap. The processes they explain have got to work.
