I have a 2001 QX4 and the engine service light led up, how can I reset this service light or I have to go to the dealer and pony up $100-$150 to reset. Thanks.

Something is wrong with the emissions system. That is why the light is on. You can run to autozone and they will pull the codes for free usually.

The Davis Car Chip can reset the light. It costs $125 which is expensive if this is all you want to do. If you don't fix the underlying problem, the light will re-appear in about 100-150 miles. If you do fix the problem, the light will go out on its own in about 200 miles.

The light will go out after 2 good tests and after 2 warm up cycles. which ever occurs later. There is no mileage when it happens. The car has to be started cold and warm up to operating temp twice as well as perform at least 2 consecutive passing self tests before it will turn the light off.
