How to tune s14 KA-T with s-afc?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

Well I got my beast running with 370's, small t3, stock maf, stock fuel presure, non-intercooled, and 1st gen apexi safc. I used a inovate wide band to tune today on 4 lbs. At first i tried, -27 for high and low throttle,( for the base) but it ran quite rich. I messed with all of the different rpm settings to try to lean it out but it didn't really help it out, like -15 for low throttle at 2-4 k rpms. I tried differnt values for about 2 hours, watching the wideband, it was mostly 10-11 a/f ratio. Pretty wierd. Can some of you guys that have tuned afcs, tell me how basicly you did it.

1st you need to figure out what percentage larger the 370cc inj is over the stock whatever it is...Assuming all factors are ok, you then subtract that percentage from each of the rpms points allowed. Im sure u can pick the 6 or 8 points picked but u need to enter that % at those rpm points and then run the dyno to see whats changed...Its gonna take quite a few runs to get it almost perfect at 12:1 across the board.Thats why the S-afc II came out and lets u pick 12 points on the rpm band for better tunning.

Guys, Correct me if im wrong on the programming aspect of that s-afc...

So you started with -27% across the board and it was rich. Then you set it at -15% at low 2-4krpm? You're going the wrong way. If you are running rich you need to lower the number, in this case go to a more negative # like -33% or something.

not only that... but the stock injectors can handle 4spi easily. You may want to just use the stock injectors if you aren't going to be boosting much more than that....

Well, I got my problem figured out. My rpm signal wasn't working, cuz of that thats why my car was bogging in higher rpms. Because it was -27 at idle but when rpms increased, fuel stayed the same. I fixed it, and spent about an hour tunning it with the wideband. It was alot easier than I thought. Right now most of my a/f is high 11's to low 12's which I think is nice. We also mounted, the afc in the cigarette box, and used the cover so you can cover the afc, when your not using It and so it doesn't get jacked. Ill post pics later. Thanks for your help though.
