When I bought my 2023 car the sales man synced my phone to the car to "help" me get all the cars Functions.
Luckily he seemed to struggle doing it and said he was never able to sync it, but still.

However if he conected ever so briefly and only partially that may still mean the car downloaded all my data.
Just stumbled on this video which reminded me of the issues

My 2023 armada has a feature to "clear all data".
But does it really perorma as advertised?

A buddy of mine had a late model motorcycle once and cleared all cell data yet when a shop examned the bikes electronic brain all that data had been retained as readable by a shop, just not by a consumer anymore.
So since my phone may have been synced beofre however briefly I want that data out.

So the question I have to be braintrust here:

a) Do we know if the Nissan Connect "clear all data" button works for real?

b) If not can a dealer tech do the phone data clearing at a dealer?

As some of you might now I had the telematics antenna disconnected so the car no longer sends that data up automatically but it is still in there so I want to get rid of that if it is still indeeded in there.
I have data colelction "off" via the menu but its turns itsself back on on ocasion.

I do not use apple car play ever.

On an Armada, the only way to assure phone data is gone is to disconnect the TCU and then run down the backup battery. Not simple.

Gotcha,

Luckily I do not think my phone was ever connected.
However my phone was connected via USB-C for charging.
Any threat there?

Not unless you gave the phone permission to let the car access it. Virtually all phones will ask you first when plugged into a new device which wants access to your phonebook or files.
