How to tell year of s13 redtop

I just got an s13 redtop front clip, Compression was about 160 in every cylinder. There was no gauge cluster or vin or anything.

Is there any way to tell what year it is?

umm since its a redtop its prolly between a 1991 and a 1993 Just say its a 93

lol - that's what I'm gunna say. And since ALL engines from Japan have 30,000-45,000 km, I'm gunna say it has 35k too.

Actually, the last gen. of redtop motors has those little 'cooling fin' looking things on the front of the motor just under the valve cover. The S13 blacktops have them, if you know where one is you can look at. If it doesn't have the fins, then it's a very early redtop.

It does have the cooling fins. The guy who sold me the motor said the same thing but I thought maybe it was BS.

i almost bought a s13 blacktop clip with 160,000KM (it came with alot of stuff and was only 2600)
