How to tell the difference between the Q50 3.0t and the 3.0tRS

In 2014, the G37 Sedan became Infiniti Q50. G37 Coupe and Convertible became Infiniti Q60 under Infiniti's new naming structure - Here's the place to discuss the Q50 and Q60!

Looking at the models of the cars and liking the idea of the Red Sport with 400hp. To replace the 300zx that I need to sell. I keep finding that the dealers online list these cars wrong. On some of the pics with the brakes the calipers are red and some are silver. From what I can see on the side badge the S's are red.
I should also add I've been looking at 2016 and up models.

So how do you discern from the two models with 3.0 turbo?

Is it a packaging platform of interior and rims. Like the RS gets 19" rims and the standard 3.0t gets 18".

Are the red calipers on both models or only came as a option or are they signifying that it is a RS model?

I'm sure there are more questions to get asked from the answers.
Oh and for the old haters that grip about looking with the search bar I did and didnt get a proper answer.

Red S, red calipers, sport exhaust tips, and sport wheels are the usual options at a glance.

Thanks for the link that had the info I needed. just going to have to determine the parts to identify them. Looks like they added more every year.

Yup to these points only thing is that 2016 didn't get red calipers

from what the article said directly copied and pasted;
2016 model
1) Red Sport 400 features unique staggered 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and 245/40R19 front / 265/35R19 rear summer performance run-flat tires.

2)The front end design is decidedly aggressive, with a sport front fascia offered on the Q50 3.0t Sport and Red Sport 400 models. The grille's three-dimensional, textural quality is provided by elaborate detailing of the waved mesh pattern surface and chrome surround, (This can make it a bit harder to spot the RS vs a plain sport 3.0t)

3)The Q50 Red Sport 400 includes red "S" badging and unique exhaust tips

2017 model

1) The front end design is decidedly aggressive, with a sport front fascia offered on the Q50 2.0t, 3.0t Sport and Red Sport 400 models. The grille's three-dimensional, textural quality is provided by elaborate detailing of the waved mesh pattern surface and chrome surround ( now on the 2.0t too add to the confusion )

2) The Q50 Red Sport 400 includes red "S" badging and unique exhaust tips (The silver S badge being placed on the 2.0t)

3) The Q50 Red Sport 400 features unique staggered 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and 245/40R19 front / 265/35R19 rear summer performance run-flat tires.

4) Sport brakes with upgraded rotors, 4-piston front calipers and 2-piston rear calipers are standard on Q50 2.0t Sport, Q50 3.0t Sport and Q50 Red Sport 400, with red painted calipers added for 2017 on the Red Sport 400. (this is the first year for the red caliper to signify the deference for the RS model)

2018 model

1) Further design changes at the front of the Q50 for 3.0t SPORT and RED SPORT 400 grades include a more angular front bumper and wider, lower air intakes – adding greater visual potency. Inspired by INFINITI's "zero lift" approach to aerodynamic efficiency, the new Q50 boasts a more prominent airfoil at the base of the front bumper.

2)The rear of the 3.0t SPORT and RED SPORT 400 places more focus on the twin exhausts and rear diffuser with a two-tone paint finish – the body color is accompanied by dark metallic trim around the base of the rear bumper. Door mirrors are finished in high-gloss black paint, adding to the car's confident look (unsure about the side mirrors being only for these models or if its on all)

3) The Q50 RED SPORT 400 includes red "S" badging and unique exhaust tips, helping assert the car's performance credentials

4)The RED SPORT 400 is further differentiated with semi-aniline quilted leather-appointed seats, red stitching throughout the cabin and quilted side inserts on the seats, as well as sporty, yet simple, dashboard dials with dark chrome finish. The adoption of more technical materials accentuate the car's performance potential, such as aluminum with patterned surface trim on the dashboard, matte dark chrome on the doors and a black headliner for a more focused and cocooned interior.

5)Sport Brakes with upgraded rotors, 4-piston front calipers and 2-piston rear calipers are standard on Q50 3.0t SPORT and Q50 RED SPORT 400, with red painted calipers on the RED SPORT 400.

6)The Q50 RED SPORT 400 AWD comes equipped with 19x9-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with 245/40R19 all-season run-flat tires. And finally, the Q50 RED SPORT 400 RWD comes with staggered aluminum-alloy wheels with 245/40R19 front, 265/35R19 rear run-flat summer tires; conventional tires are optional for RED SPORT 400 RWD. (they must be listening to finally get option away from run flat)

Never noticed the black mirror change on the 18's until mentioned here. I like the regular Akebono silver vs. the red calipers and not a fan of the quilted seating as well. All years of RS400 have 19x9 sizes for the AWD's. Conventional tires were available for the staggered setups starting in 2016 as they were Bridgestone 245/40R19 front Bridgestone 265/35R19 rear.

That was the first write up that listed the rim sizes. Looked like someone was just updating the article. 2018 was the first big upgrade year for alot of stuff. Need to look at 2018 models to see if they have matching mirrors to body paint.

Truthfully the awd in any model is probably the way to go since the rear dif only comes in a open setup. It seems to be a common thing with manufactures these days. They set it up to use traction control instead of having proper traction response from a good system. Even my 09' G8 GT is a open dif. That car torques so much though that it spins both tires constantly. Helps when you drive it like you stole it.

I had read a post that complained about the open dif and the lack of traction causing the one wheel to spin more often.
