I am looking to buy a 1997 Nissan HB 4x4 regular cab from a local seller. 156,000 miles on it. 4x4 seems to work fine. Its a carb 2.4 engine. How dependable are these engines? what engine came with the 1997? i thought it was all fuel injected. any problems out of carburetor engine? its been so long since i owned one. Gas mileage? This is my first nissan. ANY info to help me out would be appreciated.

thank you

Not a carb, but sequential injection using 52mm downdraft throttle body with integrated MAF sensor. Kind of looks like a carbuetor at a glance.

the only engine available in 97 is the KA24E, the engine is underpower but very reliable, easy 300k engine

I'd say that 31x10.5s are spot on for a 4wd D21 at stock ride height. When I bought my truck (4x4 stock ride height) it had them and I could turn lock to lock with no rubbing, any larger and I think they would have, though.
