In trying to find out about getting a new clutch master cylinder for a 1990 Nissan Stanza they need to know if it was made before or after I think it's October of that year. They said there should be a plate with the info on the door but I didn't see one. Can it be figured out by the VIN? The number is:

JN1FU21PXLX806478

Good question. Hopefully a Nissan tech Niconaut can chime in. In the meantime, I just looked up the Nissan VIN decoder and it does not appear the VIN provides the specific Month/day of manufacture. But it does give the model year, and the (L) confirms it's a 1990 if that helps any.

The manufacture date is gotten by the last 6 digits, as far as I know you have to call and get that information from Nissan directly. I called 1-800-nissan-1 and got mine a few years ago.
