Hi All ,

Finally got the calipers off ... no burn smell but it feels that I have a drag now... transmission is starting to buck on the highway could be time to swap the fluid .. but how to confirm pad drag ?

I would jack up the front end and grab the wheel and just spin it by hand. Should not be much drag.

You can then kick the tire hard at 12 o'clock and a couple of times at 6 o'clock. This helps push the pistons back in the calipers. Spin the wheel again and see if it spins more easily.

What new parts did you end up putting in?

Just the new pads for now...friday i am replacing the calipers since the one pin is stuck solid on each side. What i am fearing is that one of the pistons is failing since when i looked at the old pads last night again...the bugers were slanted uneven wear ...

so worst comes to worst i will see how bad the current pads are and need be replace them at the same time as the calipers.

With new calipers / hardware you should be in good shape.

Don't know if you've replaced calipers before - just watch the fluid level in the master cylinder closely. If the reservoir goes dry, you will likely have to bleed the master cylinder because it will get air in it. Easier to be careful and not have to do that.

Good luck!
