I finished up installing my SR20DET. When I turn the key in the ignition over all I can hear is the starter spinning real fast but it's not actually grabbing the flywheel and turning it over. One of two things comes to mind... Either I have something hooked up wrong (any idea on what it might be?) or the starter is blown. Anyone know how to tell for sure if the starter is blown? Seems to me if the starter was blown it wouldn't even spin at all. Anyone has this problem?

Also... Is the SR starter the same as a KA or what?

Pull the starter out and bench test it. Hook the negative side to the negative or grounding wire on the starter and apply 12v's to the positive/battery supply to starter. Check to make sure that the gears extend from the starter body when voltage is applied and retracts when voltage is taken away..
