Hey all,

I think my O2 wire is bad. I am having VERY bad hesitation.

I changed the O2 sensor but I did not notice a difference. However, if I unplug the O2 sensor while the car is running, I don't notice a diffence in in performance. I don't get a CEL either when I unplug it.

I took a volt meter and grounded the wire on the battery and touched the positive terminal on the connection pointed on the O2 sensor. No voltage was present.

Am I doing something wrong?? How can I tell if the O2 wire is working properly??

Thanks

ok, touch the negative to the o2 sensor body, and the positive to the connection.

it very well could be your MAF or cts or a number of things

is there anything else, like smoke or hard to start, or doesnt idle right, or anything like that?

Shew!! Than ks for responding. I wasn't getting much help lately. :(

Anyway, the car starts up VERY fast. I only have to let the car crank maybe 2 seconds and it starts right up.

Idle is rough. For the first minute of idling, the car wants to stall. I have to gently push on the gas pedal to keep the revs up. After that minute, it idles, but is still rough.

I am having a MAJOR bogging issue. The only way I can get the car going is by pushing the gas pedal lightly. If I push it too much, the car just bogs. I made a thread about this a few days ago.

If I disconnect the MAF connection while the car is running, it will stall out right then and there.

The hose coming out of the bottom of the BLP device had a hole in it and it had a lot of grit in it. I replaced the tube but it did not make a difference.

I have already replaced the dist. cap, rotor, plugs, and wires. O2 sensor is new too. Gas is new and 93 octane.

try cleaning the maf. use brake cleaner and wipe it down. if you have aftermarket intake or whatever, clean the adapter plate, and spray some in the little hole on the mafs. then take the 2 screws out of the little black box and carefully! clean the 2 reeds with a qtip and some cleaner. fixed mine right up, no more crappy idle

if you want to know if your o2 is working properly, try using the ecm to read flashes in the led of the ecu, i dont know how to explain it because i dont know much english, but if you acces to the ecu, you can use some modes that ecu give to you, and you can know if your o2 sensor is good or worse.
