Hey guys, I was wondering how to tell whether or not I have abs on my 240 or not. I have a 4 lug conversion and it's not a se model so I figured I did not: is this correct?? I'm about to get some upgraded rotors and needed to know for sure whether or not I have abs. Well if anyone can help please post or email at [email protected]

go somwhere with no people, get up to like 20-30 mph and jam on the brakes, if your car just slides no abs

96 base models can have ABS...

ABSFollow the small metal lines from the master cylinder. They should run across the firewall behind the engine and into some kinda 'ABS unit'. This unit is located on the left side of the engine bay near the firewall. It should have several of these small metal lines run into / out of it. If you got one of these, you got ABS.

non ABSIf you dont have ABS, then the lines from the master cylinder just run across the firewall and disappear down into the left corner of the engine bay

heres a pic of a non ABS car. the 'ABS unit' would be about where the VIN plate is on the left side of the firewall. And those 3 or 4 metal lines on the firewall would run into the ABS unit before disappearing behind the motor.http://images.cardomain.com/me...l.jpg

see that gold/silver thing on the firewall on the left side? Thats an ABS unit. It will be there if you have ABS. If you don't have ABS, there will just be empty space there.

Thanks for the help guys, no abs. Anyone had any experience with brembo rotors? Any thoughts or comments if so? I think I'm going w/ slotted rotors or just blank replacements: does this sound like the best way to go?

brembo is good if you're not doing the z32 brake upgrade. get slotted instead of blank rotors.

I would just get a 'blank' rotor, good pads, new lines, and fluid.
