Quote »How do you tell if your diff is open of limit slip?[/quote]Any forum browser would tell you to search? Keep the forum a little less clutered as there are many posts with similar titles.

But because I'm trying to sell the extra LSD in my possession. Take the rear driver wheel off and look at the diff you should be able to see a sticker similar to this: http://nico.dreamhosters.com/fs/DSC01572_res.jpg

If not you have an open diff. You could also check your rear tire wear for unevenness.

an easy way of checking is:

1. Find a nice open patch of pavement.2. Turn the steering wheel in one direction3. rev the engine high.4. drop it in gear.5. wipe the grin off your face6. get out of the car and count the skid marks.

2 stripes and you have a vlsd, 1 stripe and you are stuck with an open diff. I believe all of the canadian 240sx have the vlsd

Lift the rear of the car, spin one of the rear wheels and watch the one on the other side...

Open diff will spin in the opposite direction, limited slip will spin in the same...

Look for an orange sticker on the pumpkin. And while you are at it use this tool. It will make your life easier.
