Hey guys, trying to figure out if this guy on Craigslist has a rear subframe that will work for me. He doesn't know what it is, because it came from the PO with the 240sx he bought. I know that the 2 subframes are different for the different shaped diffs, but I'm trying to find something easier to tell him to look for. A TT subframe should have holes for the HICAS on the back end, I just can't find a good picture or description of this. It would be really nice if anyone could find a picture of one without the HICAS rack on the subframe so it would look like his.

So, I still can't find any clear way to tell NA from TT just by looking at subframe only. I did figure out the subframe I was looking at was for an S13, however. There were a few giveaways on the rear, mostly a ~2" hole immediately behind the diff that the Z32 NA and TT subframes don't have. I didn't realize how similar their subframes were to the Z32.

Unless I've missed something, as far as I know the only difference with a NA subframe and TT subframe is whether there is the HICAS unit or not, the NA having control arms where the HICAS arms are in the TT frame. I even believe the rear brakes are the same even on a '90 z32 where the front rotors are 26mm instead of the 30mm units in all other years.

The hump is supposed to be slightly different in a TT than and NA. You can modify an NA subframe to fit the the TT diff, but then you have to do some other stuff to strengthen it. The arms, etc are the same and fit on the same.

I'll have to look into that, thanks.
