Do you unscrew it? pull it? heat it? ????

I need to change the leather boot, 'cause mine is getting older.

1. how to "unsrew" the shift knob?

2. where can i obtain the new leather boot? oem?

Grab it really hard with your hand and spin it counter-clockwise. It's just screwed on.

drill a hole through it on the top and stick a strew driver through the hole and then pull counter clock wise .. it will give you TONS of leverage and it will come off like butter.

buy some protein, start a work out regiment, train hard, then once you get enough muscles just screw the knob out (counterclockwise=loose, clockwise=tight)... lol jk I had trouble getting mine off, it really is just a matter of using brute strength... if it doesn't worktry using a bise grip with a towel covering it, unless you don't care about the knob... just an idea

Mine would not come off, I had it in a vise with some huge *** grips on it and it still took me about 5 minutes to get it off. I completely destroyed it but it was fun, hehe. Plus my clip came with one~

If you are trying to save the knob you are gonna have to use your hands and twist the ***** as hard as you can. If you don't care about the knob grab a pipe wrench. My spins freely on my car.

ok, first truly do specialize on some parts of my vehicle, and brakes are one of them.

second, i can't take it out. of course i can use a brute force attack. <--mixing it w/something else here.

but I'm not familiar with the structure/design of the transmission and a shifter. so i'm guessing if i turn it too hard, it may bend or damage the transmission somehow.

so thats the only thing i'm concerned about.

as for showing up at Chester, VA, i can't dude. i got my first final coming up this next tuesday on discrete math, and other crap later on (VCU). every hour is an hour i could use to sleep or study. so i can't show up anywhre.

1. SO ACCORDING TO YOU ALL, EVEN IF I USE A BRUTE STRENGTH TO UNSCREW IT COUNTERCLOCKWISE, IT WILL NOT DAMAGE OR AFFECT THE transmission OR SHIFTING AT ALL?

2. ALSO, WHERE CAN I GET A BRAND NEW OEM LEATHER BOOT? PRICE??

thanks, also be a pervert like me.
